The Fences Are Getting Lower These Days

As a young man growing up I remember the fences around town seemed to be a lot higher. The chain-link fences around the school yard were a good 8 1/2' tall. Today I noticed they are only about 6 1/2 foot tall, but they still keep people out. Do you know why?

It is simple really; the fences do not have to be as tall because people are so out of shape that they cannot get over them without a lot of extra effort. As a young man I could run up to an eight and half foot tall fence, jump up and put my foot in the center, grab onto the top and catapult myself over in one motion, while bringing my legs completely over like a gymnast on a saw horse and land on my feet.

Of course now I can barely do that, but luckily it is a lot about technique and as I can still get over the fences. Of course now I notice the fences are lower, so it helps me as I get older. It seems that companies and businesses or even school yards are saving quite a bit of money on their fencing due to all the fat Americans we have these days.

Moral of the story; if America gets back in shape the cost of the fences will go up along with the height. I certainly hope this article is of interest and that is has propelled thought. The goal is simple, to help you in your quest to be the best in 2007. I thank you for reading my many articles on diverse subjects, which interest you.
